Laughter Is The Language Of The Soul

Laughter is the language of the soul

When you smile, you show me your deepest thoughts, let me see you, let me explore each of your secrets, and I feel close to you. Sometimes, you infect me with joy, simply by drawing a small curve in your lips, because your eyes smile at me before the laugh reaches your mouth.

Through each of your smiles you show me the world as you see it,  teach me that there is a way to see life with an open soul and willing to learn. If you don’t smile, I’ll fight with everything I can to get your lips to reach the sky.

Why do we lose our sense of humor?

A child laughs about 400 times throughout the day, and an adult about 15. This may be because we have lost our innocence or sense of humor, but the truth is that we often need to regain the ability to laugh like children do. have fun and learn to see life in a much simpler way.

One of the causes of our lack of humor at certain times is the rigidity with which we behave, our lack of naturalness, our fear of breaking the rules, of not respecting the rules. But who wrote the rules? What happens if we don’t respect it? Nothing’s going to happen, we’ll just be ourselves.

All you have to do is get on an early morning bus and see people’s faces and we realize that no one smiles anymore, that everyone has lost their good mood. But have you ever stopped to think about what would happen if you smiled a little more? You don’t miss a thing,  your problems will remain there, but if you manage to smile, you will certainly see them differently.

Learn to laugh at yourself again

When we are children, we are not ashamed or think about our faults or virtues, we are simply happy and smile for life. Therefore, laughter is also a matter of self-esteem. If we have self-love, we will be able to accept our shortcomings and our virtues and let go of the importance we place on what other people think.

But it’s not just if you have adequate self-esteem that you’ll be able to laugh at yourself; if you laugh at yourself it will strengthen your self-esteem. So it works both ways.

Another way to relearn how to laugh at ourselves is to discover how to overcome our shyness, our shame for the opinions of others, since this sensitivity to negative criticism is what paralyzes us and does not allow us to enjoy our laughter. Learn to be spontaneous, say what’s on your mind, make jokes, smile, don’t be afraid,  nothing will happen and you’ll even have fun.

laughter as therapy

Laughter therapy is no longer just a way to fight stress or enjoy a good time with friends, to become a method with medical and psychological applications. The bottom line is that when you force a laugh, it will make you feel equally good and you’ll end up with a natural laugh.

Psychologist José Elías, a pioneer in laughter therapy in Spain, showed that laughter strengthens the heart,  and that when we laugh, we move 420 muscles in our body, including the heart muscle. In addition, laughter lowers blood pressure because it increases the diameter of blood vessels and encourages breathing.

Therefore, laughter improves our quality of life and our health, in addition to having both physical and psychological positive effects. Learning to laugh helps us see life from another point of view, much more pleasant and healthy. So  smile, for this is the language of your soul, the way you can get out of your body and fly.
